Just ordered a JB BC40 to use exclusively for an adventure race. This will be its dedicated use (only once a year). The race will require it to be lit almost all night (7+ hrs), so that means low mode (which is just right for its purpose).

I've been reading every thread on batteries I can find, but I find myself still in need of some down and dirty advice. The light will take 4*CR123's or 2*18650's. Since the light will only be used once a year and it's the only device I have with these types of cells, I'm reluctant to cough up for the 18650's plus a charger. Is there any significant reason to go with 18650's (other than a little extra run time)? Thx

u better stick with lithium primary cause u only use it once a year. leaving a 18650 unused for a year can over-discharge the cell & can be very dangerous
