The Basic series JETBeam now wants to reach the user who wants an easy-to-use, powerful and cheap lamp.
Like all light from the Basic series has the BC40 two modes, which are switched by rotating the head. Operated with the BC40 4 x CR123A lithium batteries or 2 x 18650 Li-Ion battery.
Performance and maturity
High (830 lumens) for about 90 minutes
Low (130 lumens) for about 11 hours

I doubt that it will be. I should say for sure that this cannot compare to Thrunite Catapult or Eagletac M3C4 XM-L, even the Fenix TK35.
I hope the B series of Jetbeam is much better quality than the previous one.
We have been a Jetbeam distributor and we experience a lot of complaint after 1-2 months usage of their torches in the past.
They also change customer service every once in a while.
Now, they are merging with Nitecore.
Whatever they do, I surely hope the quality is much improved.
P.S. I can barely hear what the youtube guy was saying. The English alone is just difficult to listen..let alone adding some water noise in the background.

That light looks sick
Terrible sound with the waterfall (?) in the background. Some of the voice overs of the static pictures, during the video, sound like they were recorded in a toilet cubicle :laughing:
Looks ok but seriously, what has happened at the Jetbeam styling department? Where is any of the design expertise that gave us the M1X, RRT-2 / 3, JET III-M etc? This light looks like a toilet plunger (perhaps they found it whilst recording the video from the cubicles :laughing:?) It looks like a lump on a stick.
Just an opinion but Jetbeams have always been beautiful on the outside, if sometimes unreliable on the inside.

This thing has 30,000 lux, manufacturer rated. Jet beam, as I heard, tends to be conservative. Fenix TK35 has 27,000 lux, and reviews show it to be slightly lower. But for a general use light, the TK35. For a general also, but less versitile, and more tighter beam, BC40. I gotta say, I was shocked at its $70 price tag!!! If it stays that way, I'm getting it.

I just got my bc-40 today. It isn't even dark yet. I bought an XM-L drop-in from a *reliable* company and the drop in is about 1/2 the lumens this bc-40 is. The bc-40 has a remarkably smooth beam, simple UI, forward clicky that can work as a twisty. Plenty of light downrange. Cheap price. Instant shipping from LightJunction. This is not a Surefire M4, but it is a fantastic flashlight. The head has no wobble when twisted hi/low. It throws without a donut hole. Thanks JetBeam! It does kinda look like a small plunger, though....

I kinda like the way it looks. I haven't got to really get out and use mine fully yet but playing in the backyard shows it is a great light for the money. The two settings are about perfect, 130 lumens do most tasks well and 830 lumens to light up as far as anyone without binoculars would need.

Pleasure to be here. First real post here at CPF...as I think I finally have something useful and interesting to say.
I got my BC40 a few days ago, and it's a great little price performer. $70 for a solid feeling torch that is still light enough to easily carry in the "tool pouch" of my Carhartts.
I just wanted to mention one thing that I don't *think* has been captured yet: The bezel is indeed removable. My unit had a small smudge on the backside of the glass--enough to make a "dent" in the otherwise flawless beam. I was a bit dismayed, thinking I'd have to return it for a new unit as I had read that the bezel was fixed.
After I inspected the light, I thought, man, there's no way this bezel is NOT removable. Clearly I am a neophyte in the flashlight realm thinking like that, but I'm not a neophyte in the engineering realm, and that part of me said, this bezel's gotta come off.
So I took after it with two strap wrenches and several dozen ft-lbs later, the bezel did indeed unscrew. It was quite possibly the tightest bezel I've ever encountered, but still no match for proper application of force.
Is "not removable" CPF speak for "VERY tight"? If so, then I'm not telling you guys anything you don't already know.
I was able to clean my lens and reapply my bezel. Though I'm pretty sure I compromised my water-tightness in the process. But, my lens is clean, it's back in one piece and I'm enjoying this dandy little light.
Oh, one last thing--I don't know if this has been mentioned yet (sorry, I haven't read every post on CPF about the BC40): In my case, the light did not ship with a holster.
So, there you have it. The sum total of my knowledge in this little pastime of ours.

I've read probably every one of your reviews completed in the last year or so, and have based every one of my purchases on information from those reviews. Glad I could give back just this tiniest bit of information. :bow:
I imagine you are correct that the bezel was fixed with loctite. It was a blue, pasty residue that I observed. I've seen it on other torches...the last being--I think--my Lumintop TD15X. Seriously sticky stuff.
I hope JetBeam comes out with a smooth reflector for this light. That'd be dandy. And a holster, since it appears to have become a post-sale accessory. :whistle:

Always happy to give credit where it is due in my reviews. :)
If they are using actual Loctite, then blue is a good sign (i.e. red loctite is read pain to break without boiling, etc). But of course, it could be any of a number of knockoff materials. My BC40 certainly wouldn't give with hand force, but blue loctite should give with strap wrenches. :thumbsup:
