Newly Enlightened
I'm hoping you guys will help me settle on a light or recommend me a different light.
I am looking to replace my Jetbeam BC40. I lost it in a river while fishing. It was very frustrating watching your light sink helplessly to the bottom with the light still on.:(
I am looking to spend under $170. I want something that is again IPX8 rated and uses 18650s. I would like a decent improvement with light output (1000+ lumens 20,000 + Candela) I would ideally like something that is a good thrower but would like a little bit of flood spill as well (not critical).
The physical size isn't really a concern for me as long as it is not like Fenix TK40 extremely huge. One requirement is definitely a lanyard loop or something to attach a lanyard. The user interface and buttons are not really a concern for me.
As for the power source I am looking to use 18650s (2-4).
A few of the lights I have been looking at:
Fenix TK51 I love the fact that it really is two lights in one and each can be controlled individually. I am leaning mostly towards this light..pending its release…but no one has had a chance to review it that I can see yet.
Blackshadow Terminator it looks like this could provide quite an immense amount of light but I am unsure of the quality.
Eagletac SX25L3 It looks like a lot of light for the money.
Jetbeam SSR50 I like the fact that it includes the large capacity rechargeable battery, but I also don’t like it at the same time as I couldn’t just swap batteries in the field.
Fenix TK75 this light looks really awesome, but it is really outside of what I am willing to spend for a light that will likely face all sorts of “abuse”.
