I recently acquired a Jetbeam Jet-III M R5. While Im quite happy with its overall efficiency (nice cold white light beam), Im puzzled by the hidden/programmable mode.
I do not think this mode is specific to Jet-III M R5 but usual with Jetbeam products so I guess any Jetbeam user could enlighten me. At this point, I'm out of option to find out whether I'm doing something wrong or if the product has some defect.
I only happen to set it properly from time to time, without knowing exactly how I did it.
The device is off, I rapidly press the button 6 times or more, I get to the brightness mode selection. Fine. I press and release once, I get to the strobe mode selection. Fine. Now, according to the manual, if I only set it off and wait for more than 2 sec, it should save the last setting as hidden/programmable more. Well, it does not. Most of the time, I press and release (to set it off), I wait around 10 sec and I get back to brightness mode selection - actually, I think I get to the restore factory settings function.
The manual states I should get to this restore factory settings when I set off and on within a second.
So it just endlessly cycle through brighness selection, strobe selection and restore factory settings mode. I only happen, from time to time, to be able to get out of it with no conclusive insight. So what am I doing wrong? What did I miss?
I understand this question may seem trivial. I looked at plenty of videos on youtube, in each case, the programmable mode seems to be set just as I do each time, press and release to set to off and wait, while in brightness or strobe selection mode.
