Does anyone have any beamshots of the jetbeam rrt-0 r5 and the s2? Is there a significant difference between the two?

I'd like to see that too, couldn't find anything but the R5's on Youtube. I heard the S2's were a bit green, I'll have to wait and see as I have one on the way, says it will be here tomorrow.

Please let me know what you think when you receive your S2.

Sure thing Tank. The Jetbeam TCR2 uses the S2 emitter and it doesn't look green to me. Although I think they drive that one harder as it has 310 lumen compared to the RRT-0 S2 being 270 lumen.

For the moment i cannot find any RRT0 R5's in stock. I am in the market myself. I got a preon 2 in S2 and i absolutely hate the green tint. Unless you like green tint or want to gamble, wait for the R5 or MAYBE XML versions to come out. A guy can dream can't he!

The only 2 S2's I have are both green, 1 much worse than the other... And I am waiting for R5 RRT-0 as well!

Update.... Going Gear is waiting on a shipment of R5 RRT-0's, but they found one in the drawer, that he said is whiter than the 2 S2's they have... So he is sending it to me... Hope it arrives by Sat ;)

I received my Jetbeam RRT-0 with the S2, from Bug Out USA, about 2 weeks ago. I haven't noticed any green tint in mine. Just a nice perfect beam with the OP reflector.

Cool AlPal, that's where mine is coming from. Hopefully mines not green either although I think tints can be a bit subjective.

Hey Tank got it today, good news is no green! Kinda weird though, shined it at my white clothes dryer and took a picture with my Iphone and it looks green? Got to be something with the camera because it in no way looks green to the eye. My only complaint would be that it doesn't go low enough for me. The real test will be tonight when I wake up to use the "facilities" if it messes with my night vision. It's a tad bigger than I thought but it is still comfortablely pocketable.

Light Junction has R5's in stock. That is where I bought mine. I'd buy an S2 as well if they improved the switch but I haven't seen anything saying it is less spongy.

Guys .... Quick question... I have just received an S2 and the usual plastic guarantee card has been replaced by a standard piece of card. Also no pocket clip. Feels like I'm getting less for my money. Anyone else found the same?

Your talking about a difference with flux bin, the S2 and R5 is still a XP-G so you could very well get a green or cool white with either. It really does not matter if I have a white tinted RRT0 S2 because you could just as easily get a green one, same as the XP-G R5.

I have three of these; the TC-R2s seem to have a slightly better tint, but the RRT-0 I have only has a faint tinge of green around the outer edge of the hotspot -- the center is nice and yellow-white.

I got the paper card too, but mine also included the snap-on pocket clip. Was yours missing?

If you are interested in a clip for your rrt-0, I suggest you take a look at the Nitecore EX11 titanium clip. It fits perfectly and, to me, looks better and seems more secure.

I have a TCR2 with the S2, and it is simply the perfect beam/tint. Not cool, not warm, not green, just pleasant. And powerful. That beam pretty much ruined every other light I own.

I already have a TC-R2 and I would like to get an RRT-0 from goinggear, but they only have the S2 moiety left, some 16 units in fact.
I don't think they will order any R5's in until the S2's sell out.

I know the S2 is a little brighter than the R5, and the S2 may have a slight tint too.
However, does anyone know how big the S2 hot spot is compared to the R5?
And how far does the S2 throw relative to the R5?

Interesting. I doubt it will be as useful as the XPG version, though; the reflector is too small to focus the wide XML emitter very well, which means the "hotspot" won't be much "hotter" than the rest of the beam -- and I doubt the increase in lumens will be enough to compensate for that.

Does anyone know if the XML version runs at a higher power, or whether it just gets more light from spreading the same power across a larger emitter surface?
