Hello All,

I know that this is off topic (Moderator: please feel free to move if in violation), but I need to purchase a new jumper pack (like the kind used to jump start a car) and was hoping to tap into some of the battery expertise here. Aside from being kept in the car in case I need a jump, I will be bringing it into the house during power outages to power small electronics, laptop, cellphone...etc.

I am looking for the largest capacity unit that's somewhat reasonable in size (does not have to be wheeled) for this purpose, preferably with a built in inverter that can handle as much current draw as possible.

I have been looking at these offerings (below) and wanted to get your thoughts. I am more than open to recommendations about other units. Also, will there ever be a day anytime soon that Lithium-Ion or Lithium Polymer cells will be able to take over for the Sealed Lead Acid cells commonly found in these units that are so heavy and bulky?

Hello Glass,

Welcome to CPF.

I don't have either unit, but have heard from others that the Duracell unit seems to perform well.

Seems the duracell should last longer per charge.
Duracell 28 amp/hour
sears 22 amp/hour
Both are agm batteries:thumbsup:

Don't know what happened here? I 'am aware if the page locks up not to refresh or click reply to post again. I typed my post and hit post quick reply and it hung up. I gave it several minutes without touching anything, (cpf was hung up) and then closed the window. Then went to the main page (saved in another window) tried to go back to this thread and cpf was still not responding. Came back in about a hour and i have a duplicate post.

My buddy has the Duracell one and uses it quite often for camping/vending (sells go bags at shows) he loves it and has not had any problems with it in a couple of years. I have the next model down sears one (no 120v inverter), I have only had it for a month or so. It has successfully jumped my wifes VW Beetle lol that's all I got.
