I got off the phone with Curt not too long ago and gave him a suggestion for a new Peak item dubbed the "Cooke Canister". Basically its a CR123 battery holder for the Pacific. The diameter would be the same as the Pacific's head and access to the battery would be through the back via a screw off cap. Just think about it... twice the capacity of a standard CR2 battery and only about 1/4 inch more of length. A Pacific XLR would run for about 31 hours with this battery pack. Curt is going to sketch out the basics of such a battery holder and if other CPF members asked about it, maybe we could get this made. That would be pretty awesome.

good idea.....I can fit 2 spare heads into this body I ordered- you can change your light level needed easily.

Wow. That peak container is pretty cool. It just dawned on me that instead of creating brand new battery holder, a double threaded sleeve could be made to fit both the inside of the CR123 tube and the head of the Pacific. It would need some kind of gripping surface to extend a little beyond the 123 battery tube for removal but it would be much more cost effective... ah the power of a couple of drinks!

Would this be a Pacific size CR123 tube or a whole light? Either way, I'm in.
