It seems that Kai's Fully regulated 4-modes SSC/CREE flashlight is now selling.

There's 8 versions in total.. I think because he has two different hosts.. one exactly the same as the Elly (only black) and the other not sure.

Each host seems to have the following versions Cree X-RE P4 AA & 14500 and SSC P4 AA & 14500.

I liked the idea of having the 4 modes however on closer look at the detail it appears that these are only 1 mode. I almost hit the buy button already...

- Single mode, digitally regulated at 700mA

I wonder if this is done on purpose.. but it sure looks to me like a few people could purchase these without realising that these aren't the 4 modes version.

I think I'm gonna wait till the real 4 mode version comes out.

cool.. I'm definitely interested however there's also the other thread that has a similar circuit however with strobe. Man, which one??

who knows.. maybe both

Theres graphs and a youtube video now but it's not yet active.

42 lumens for low mode is still too bright for me. How to get 12 lumens in low mode like Fenix. Or this low brighness step is specific design from vote. Another level is very good bright.

Hmm, little disconcerting that they show the same Cree star as the one they are currently selling that is supposedly a mix of P3 and P4 crees (so you wouldn't know which you are getting). See the SOVANN description:

BTW, DX is selling a very similar looking "80 lumen" single-stage 1AA cree light with or without an aluminum reflector for a buck or two less:

Re: Kaidomain's "Fully regulated 4-modes SSC/CREE flashlight" is now selling

ok just noticed that Kaidomain now has the 4-modes up on the site but they only seem to be the Black Elly host. Don't know what happened to the other host (spiky head version), which is the one I liked more.

SSC https://www.kaidomain.com//WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=2307
CREE https://www.kaidomain.com//WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=2306
Edison https://www.kaidomain.com//WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=2305

That's right, they also have a version with the Edison Opto KLC8.

Price is now $2 more at $17.99.
The original spill about these lights was "4-modes for $15"... oh well I suppose an extra 3 modes for $2 is ok..

That's funny... all this time I've been thinking that this was 4 modes...
High->Medium->Low->Strobe... I don't know how I mistook Burst for strobe???:thinking:

hmmm.. what a bummer.. looks like I'll have to wait for RV7's circuit's to get a 4-mode with strobe.

I may just order one of these anyway.

humm gerry45 , sad story ;you should return it (take it away from your son:mecry:)
Most of the times DX and Kai s charts are quite reliable
Have some good experiences with the (modded) Elly"s they sold before and also the driver boards they use should perform well
(I have got a few of those driver boards here)

Hi,

Just received my AA 1 mode Cree @ 12.95$

There's 2 bad spots on the reflector.

Led is baddly centered.

beam is very irregular.

There's a bad contact, sometimes when i push the button there's no light.

And finally, mine is nowhere near 80 lumens. It is just a little brighter than my P2DCE at LOW setting. It is dimmer than my P2CDE at Medium. Tried Duracell, Eneloop and Energizer.

Gave it to my 6 years old son so were both happy.

YGWYPF, well done for me

which one you referring to?

Maybe because the Movie clearly shows a strobe
probably burst repeat= strobe
