Kel Lite

I came across this vintage flashlight on E-bay today. It's called a Kel Lite. It looks like an early attempt at a MagLite. Does anyone have and use one of these. The one I looked at was a 3 C version.

I used to have a 4D version long ago. It worked OK until the switch broke. Kel lite fixed it (although I had to pay shipping out) and it was OK until a leaky alkaline ruined it. I don't think it was much different from the comparable maglite.

I too have a 3c Kel-lite. I sleeved it with the appropriate pvc and am running 2x18650's with the xenon 5cell maglite bulb. A great improvement. You have to notch the sleeve to clear the switch guts, but everything else is pretty straighrt forward. Also, you can take a mag plastic reflector and cut it down if your kel-lite reflector is as bad as mine was. To clear everything you need to remove the blue gasket, but line the edge of the existing reflector (metal one) with electrical tape or she'll be on all the time. A stretch of the spring (or an appropriate size bolt) and your good to go.

Still have one...I have a 7C, but I modded it with a spacer, uses a 5 cell bulb and 4 Cs inside.....nicely bright!

I have an AA Kel Lite. Like a thin mini-mag with a side switch.
