I recently got a "Coast" light at the local drugstore for $10. It is 2-1/2" x 3/16", has a stop-light-red LED in a black powder-coated brass body. Rated at 20 hours, and is a really nice size for the keychain.

My question is whether anyone has ever heard of the 3v lithium BR435 battery it uses. Looks like a natural for a keychain light, if only it had a 1w white LED.

Any modders out there ever heard of this battery or light?

bigbird...it sounds like the one sold by Coast Cutlery and Target (under the Eddie Bauer name). It's made by LED Lenser. If you do some searching on the forum you'll pull up quite a bit of info on their product line. They're considered to be a respectable, good bang for the buck product. The lithium BR435 battery is the type used in some fishing lures...they're a PITA to find, but some fishing supply stores have been known to carry them. The advertised 20 hour run-time is pretty inflated...it may actually produce light for 20 hours, but "usable" light will fade LONG before the 20 hours is up! Good luck with your search, and welcome to CPF! Oh yeah...hold on tight to your wallet. It's gonna be a bumpy ride!!!
