KL1Rs with McTC McE2S

Hey there, what size trit are you using and how did you mount it?

I have a trim tailcap on my light now too. These are the enhancements I did to get my KL1 mod dialed:

- Used a glow boot from DX. I cut the post off inside, but left 1-2 mm to permit better actuation. This is a lot softer than the McGizmo boot and cheaper.

- I took off my retaining o-ring. It was binding in my retaining ring.

- Replaced the isolating o-ring. It was too big and would tend to bind in the body of the light. I happened to use the retaining o-ring which fits perfectly and is a bit smaller!

- The switch would not quite activate properly, so I added some spacers beneath the retaining ring (between the ring and the boot). I used 3 green plastic washers stolen from the base of dead surefire CR123s (cut off the wrapping and you will see a green washer). You only need 1 or 2 spacers, but I wanted more space for glow rings.

- I have 3 o-rings in the groove of the Trim cap. 2 for grip/cigar hold. 1 for glow.

- I have glow rings everywhere.

I'll try to post pix at some point. This is a fun light, but definitely not cheap n easy to perfect.

1.55 x 5mm from b@rt´s thread on the marketplace, width is perfect, lenght too, longer vials would fit but i think this size is perfect because its jus within the diameter of the arcs on the clip, any bigger and the vial will be unprotected by them, tho i think they would be ok too, just that this size is safer.

i just glued it with epoxy glue, the one you use from 2 parts, one the adhesive the other the curer i think.

it has a few tiny micro bubbles that can only be seen on the side of the clip, inside the arcs of the clip, but none by looking it forward, if you want perfect application without bubbles, maybe norland 61 is a good option, i am about to pay for some from Rocket Tomato, who is also selling the low force springs.
