KL4 - Refresher Coarse Needed

I can't beleive I've forgotten this already, but I need to know the input voltage maximum of the KL4. I know it runs on 2x123 (6-volts), but can't remember if it runs safely on 3 or 4 cells (9/12-volts respectively).

Pretty sure that's a NO to 9 and 12.

It's a boost converter and at about 6-6.5 volts (depending on the Vf of the Lux) it'll go into direct drive. A while back CM (I think it was) did a bench power-supply voltage sweep, and showed that the current decreased as the voltage was increased from about 3 volts up to about 6 volts (=in regulation). At that point the current increased with futher increase in voltage, which means that it went into direct drive. Increasing the voltage much above 6 volt would likely damage the Lux or the converter or both.
