klarus xt2c flickering

Hi i have had the klarus kt2c for about a year and initially it was fine for a few months running on a 18650 then the flickering came
cleaned the contacts it didn't help

switched to cr123s it worked then a few months later we are back with the flickering
i have tried cleaning it but to no avail :shakehead

any suggestions?

Retainer ring at the switch still tight?

yep still tight

pulled the switch apart, gave it a clean and its running fine
