KLARUS XT30

Hey everyone,
I want to buy for me a new thrower,and I thougt to buy the Sunwayman T40CS.but the new Klarus XT30,the UI of the XT30 look awesome,and it look like very nice flashlight.
in Klarus website they wrote that the ANSI beam distance of the XT30 is only 360 meters,however it has 820 ANSI lumens and very deep reflector.
so is it the real beam distance of the flashlight? is it good thrower compared to Sunwayman T40CS,Olight M3X?
which flashlight throw further? the Klarus XT30 or the Sunwayman T40CS?

The 'Ansi FL1 spec' gives you a level ground to compare lights. The 'Throw Distance' is a bit exaggerated, though.

1. This is the calculated distance at which the light will shed 0.25 lux, or about like the full moon's light. I am just barely able to tell a ditch from a shadow at a distance.
2. You are having to look past the near parts of the beam to see that distant reach.

In short, cut the ANSI spec by about 1/3 and that's how far you're likely to see (When away from light pollution). It is very hard to see things 100m away without hundreds of lux on target.

The ANSI spec still gives you a basis for comparison. For the most part, one with a higher rating will throw farther. But there's still not much difference (126 vs 146m) with my squint-and-guess approximation.

Almost everything about a light is more important than how far you can see in an abstract test like a lux reading. How do you like the UI, durability, size and feel in hand?

I recently picked up the new Sunwayman T40CS XML U2 version with (front button & tail clicky), and decided on a second smaller light so I picked up the new Klarus XT11 with the new (dual tail clicky only) interface just like the XT30 has. I like the new XT11 a lot and this new UI, but mainly because its a shorter and lighter weight light with a single 18650. I took both out and compared recently. I learned to like the Sunwayman T40CS all over again. I don't need that much throw or focused beam that it has, and do prefer a tad more flood, but I do find the dual UI on the Sunwayman T40 a bit more forgiving since it is a 2x18650; longer handle light (similar to XT30 length and bulky head).

I'm still a newbie learning about lights, but I second AnAppleSnail's comments above about going with the preferred UI first. My new requirement that I look for has to do with paying attention to light weight/balance in relationship to the functional buttons and hand placement to buttons. Now after trying both of these different length lights and different UIs, I don't know that I would want the longer Klarus XT30 with new rear-only tail click UI function. Seems like it would be a nose heavy situation after extended use. Now after using it a bit more, I cannot imagine my Sunwayman T40 with the rear UI button only. I use the tail button briefly at times, but use the front mode button more so now than I thought I would.
