Hey guys...this is the headlamp that I had that broke after many years of hard use and abuse...I was wondering if anyone had something similar to this that I could go look at that might be brighter or a little better quality...I don't mind spending the money to get something good but this thing really threw a nice beam...the spill wasn't the greatest but for a thrower it was very nice...

I was looking at a Priceton-tec Apex with 4 AA but without being able to put my hands on one to try out I'm a little worried that it will be that bluish color of all the other princeton headlamps that I was able to look at...I want a white light like the one I linked to...so I don't mind the bulbs if thats what I need to get...oh...and would also like to stay with AA if possible...

You might prefer a warm white LED headlamp if you're used to Krypton bulbs and consider that to be "white". Cool white LED's might look blue in comparison.

definitely do not want a bluish hue...period...I don't even mind staying with krypton bulbs...ya'll got any recommendations?

The XML-U2 looks like it might be a very good option as well...I am looking at getting that in a flashlight

XML U2 only come in cool tints which look bluish compared to an incan. Virtually anything with a Correlated Color Temp (CCT) above 5000K looks blue compared to an incan which has a CCT around 2700K.

You might want to clarify what you mean by "bluish". What some people consider blue others consider pure white.

I played with a Princeton EOS at a store and it was blue to me...the one I linked to above looked more white to my eyes so I want to go with something in that K range then...all the beam shots of the XML-U2 I have seen did look more white to me...maybe its a trick of the camera?

I think it is. The last Eos that I used was around 5500-6000K. Most available XML U2 are in the 6500-7000K range. If the Eos looked blue, the U2 will look ultra blue.

My guess is that you want something that's 4000K or lower. The only LED headlamp that I know of where you can reliably expect to get 4000K color temp is the Zebralight H51c, H51Fc, and H502c.

You can try Spark ST6 (spill + spot) or SD6 (very flood) or SD6+reflector(similar to ST6, but more floody). They have a lot of lumens (460) but they use 18650 battery. Alternatively the AA version with less lumens (ST5, SD52 or SD73). All the versions with NW led (warm white)
