Hey guys, quick question. What heads is an L2 body compatible with. I gather that the elctronics are in the body For the L2 so does that affect what heads can go on it.

I ask because I have an l2 but want to slap an lx2 head on it because I am a fan of knurled body. Don't want to buy the light if the heads can't be swapped.

Thanks for your time.

The L2 body is unique to the L2. There are no other bezels that can be used on it.

You are right that the L2 body features the electronics, whereas the LX2 electronics are in the bezel. The LX2 and L2 bodies and bezels are not interchangeable.

Since you'll have to buy a whole LX2 to get an LX2 bezel, I suggest you give the LX2 a try for a while before deciding whether the new styling is a suitable alternative to the L2's knurling for you.

Al :)

If you're set on having the LX2 head and functionality, but with knurling, I think you should be able to put the LX2 head on an E2E body, and get a customized 2-stage twisty tailcap. The body part shouldn't be hard, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to find the tailcap.

Chances are, it's probably a bit more trouble than it's worth. Couldn't hurt to try out the LX2 by itself, though.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I am glad the newer lights are more interchangeable.

So to be clear l2 parts work on l2s only. But lx2 heads fit in e2 style bodies.

I may just give the lx2 a go. I will wait for the lx1 before pulling the trigger though.

Thanks again. :)

The A2L and LX2 bezels have "E-Series" threads and can be screwed onto E-Series bodies such as the E2e/E2L/L4 etc.
Note that the first stage will not be accessible.
(although a Flashaholic may be able to create a way - perhaps...)
