l2p tailcap repair

Hello all.
Just moved, and left my Fenix L2P in the trunk for two months, in the heat. Needed it the other day, and nothing. Looked inside to change the alkaline batts, and one had leaked. They were difficult to remove with corrosion, etc. While removing them, the light turned on nicely when the screwdriver touched the casing and the battery terminal.
New batts in place, and no joy. It looks like there is corrosion and other "stuff" in the clickie cap. I thought I read something years ago about taking this apart to repair it, but can't find the post in 500 pages of posts about the subject. Any help?

there are two dimples on the side of the spring, use a tweezer to twist it counter clockwize, it will disassemble the switch assembly
