As the L5 is basically a L4 with a deeper and wider reflector from what I read (I dont have the two to compare side by side). Couldn't someone just machine a replacement piece for the screw-on lens holder on the L4 that adds to the L4's reflector to the width and deepness of the L5? Basically adding a half inch of length and diameter to the end of the L4. Probably wouldn't even have to orange peeled in finish since the L4 reflector is already orange peeled. The L4's reflector ends flush with the housing (with the lens holder removed) which would make it easy to have the extension press smoothly against the L4's reflector edge. I doubt that there is much difference in the internal dimensions part of the parabolic area of the two lights. Probably just added extra length on the L5.
Sure would be nice to be able to add some throw to the L4 easily and interchangeably and not have to buy another light.
