L4 Thermal question.

My SF L4 seems to get hot during use. I have not used it for an extended period, and I was wondering if it safe to do so. Is there some type of thermal protection? Can the head unit be damaged from extended or long operating times?

i may be wrong but i think its unsafe to let it sit when running for long times. but in youre hand . its safe because ya hand removes the heat. but i maybe wrong

I let mine run until the Pila Li-ion battery was dead. It took about 45 minutes and it got really hot. I dipped the head in a glass of water every 10 min or so and the head got cool to the touch very quick. No ill effects.

I would love to see some cooling fins on the KL4 head. Where are our custom machine shop guys at? Would that be possible?

I just finished two runtime plots on the L4 and had NO porblems with the lights.
