LaCrosse battery clips

I bought a LaCrosse bc1000 just recently and the one thing that concerns me is that it's clips (the metal clips that holds the battery while it chargers) looks really flimsy. Has anyone had any problems with these clips with time ?

Anything can break, but the problem with the BC1000/700/500 is the spacing between cells.

I've got girlie hands/fingers and getting some of these AAs and AAAs out it a real pain, especially the AAAs.

Some of you fat guys might really have a problem, lol!

Just go slow. I like my BC-700, but if I had a magic wand, I'd change some things on it.
