Hiya people, new to posting been reading here for a while, being from the UK i had some difficulty getting hold of a FatBoy, well it arrived today and i LOVE it. But I was wondering if they did one that was slightly larger? I mean I can fit all my EDC in the FatBoy

EDC consists of
SureFire G2, Z2, 6P and a Mini Mag
Ipaq 1960 and a PalmPilot,
Notebook and pens,
Minocular,
Spare batteries for everything,
Sony P800 Mobile,
Leatherman Supertool,
Small SAK,
Digital Camera,
Small 35mm camera,
Badge and wallet
and a few more bits.

But I'd like something a bit bigger for when I want to carry more junk (spare clothes etc). Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey DeltaRed, welcome to CPF and why dontcha stay awhile!

The fatboy is great, but Maxpedition doesn't make a bigger one. In the Max line, I've been giving some thought to the Pygmy Falcon, a small backpack that has mesh pockets and more room than a Fatboy:

And if I want larger, and don't want to use my Falcon (bigger and more organized than the Pygmy Falcon), I've been considering the Timbuk2 messenger bags:

good luck on your murse search and welcome again!

Hey,
Been thinking about getting a fatboy. A tad turned off due to it's "purse-like" appearance. That and I think I like more of a sling-type bag.
Oh, and the cost is a bit high (may ask around the B/S/T).
Anyways, mainly started loooking for something to carry some bits and pieces around during the day when I go travelling this summer. A full size backpack might be too big for that. I think I would like it if the fatboy was abit bigger too. Think I could jam in a light jacket?
Looking around and the atom looks pretty good. It is bigger (5.9 L vs. 2.something of the fatboy), but shapes a bit weird.

Want something pretty low profile. I'm starting to ramble, but any suggestions?

Also looking at:
Blurr Bandolier

I'd also be up for a larger version of the Fatboy - something that could hold a notebook, hardback book or two, etc.
On a related note, I just got an Elektrolumens XM-3, and adjusting the flap on the flashlight pocket, it JUST covers it with about 1/4inch of velcro engaging on either side. I just emailed Maxpedition about the possibility of getting a longer flap, about 4-5 inches longer with an extra inch of velcro on each end.
Would anyone else be interested in this? Trying to gauge if I'm the only one who'd be willing to pay (hopefully not tons) for this option.

Dan,

That Blurr looks good, too. The thing about the Atom is, it looks as convenient as you can get -- the zippers appear to be in exactly the right place, and there's elastic webbing on the outside for frequently accessed things. The strap doesn't look like the most comfortable, but you can always buy an after-market pad, I think.

try contacting the guys at maxpedition. they might make a batch if enough guys want them.

You know what I think would be cool, a modular Fatboy. Instead of putting the pockets on each side, put attachment points. You could put a point on the face, left and right side, top flap, and both sides of the straps. Maybe even the bottom. Sorta an S-Type on steriods (but I'd prefer the original, right-hand side orientation).

This way, you can put what you want, where you want it. And those of us who like a lot of junk can add the larger sized add-ons.

I can't even tell who is copying who anymore! First Eagle Industries made all of that MOLLE gear here in the USA for the US government. Eagle didn't sell much of this line to the public, so Blackhawk copied all of their designs and made the products in Vietnam to sell to the US public for a cheaper price. Next, Diamondback Tactical copied all of the Blackhawk (and others') designs and produces those copies here in the USA at a comparable price to sell to the US consumers who would prefer to buy American.

So did CountyComm copy from Eagle, Blackhawk, or Diamondback? Is this stuff made in the USA, Vietnam, or China? I'm so confused...
