LC 100 use WA Ballasts/Lamps??

I wonder if LC 100 is using WA Ballasts/Lamps?
Also, what is the operating volatge of LC? 10-12v?

Yep, LC100 used the WA Solarc 10W Metal Halide lamp and associated ballast.

Not sure about the operating voltage though, Believe it runs of 8 C size cells, so that would come to 12V nominal.

The LC100 relies on the voltage drop of the 8 C cells to run well under 12 VDC... It has been reported that connecting the LC100 to a Lead Acid battery will pop the fuse in the LC100.

Oh, then I think I should get a LC100. $17x really a good deal and if I dont like it, I have the choose to mod it to mini-hid in mag.

Oh, Dont get me wrong. $1280 is not the cost of Lamp/ballast only? I remember the modded cost is HKD$16xx.
Also they may not cut down the mag for me. So, I think $1380 for LC100 is a nice price.
I am planing to make a reversible HID mod in 3D mag. By using 9AA nimh if it use the Black/white wire ballast.
Use 8AA nimh if it use Black/yellow wire ballast.

It seem to be an easy mod. I just need to bore out the ID of D Mag from 34.3mm to ~34.93mm & 35mm depth. Solder the +/- wire to the post cut original switch and done.
Mini-HID is something impressing but I alter my idea to gain more runtime & use rechargeable. Also I can swap it back to LC100 host when I don't like. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

emm.. I still like X995 over LC100... almost same price , rechargable , and adjustable beam..only not water resistance and no so smooth beam as LC100
