LD01 Clip Fix

I recently received my SS LD01. Love the light! Wanted to like the clip, but hated how easy it was to spin on the light, or slide off the end. I tried to use the included split ring to keep the clip in place, but it would still spin and move too much for my liking. I saw someone mention in another post about wanting to drill a hole in the clip and mount it to one of the split ring holes. I thought about doing that, but I didn't really want to make any permanent modifications to the light.

I found an easier way!

This only requires a spare split ring. I took the split ring that was on the light, and flipped it over onto the clip. Then, I took the spare split ring, and slid it into the space between the other ring and the inside curve of the clip. Done. Now, the clip only barely turns on the barrel of the light, and only has a little fore and aft play. The light can still tail stand, and can still clip onto a set of keys, but the clip mostly stays put, and can't come off now.

Welcome to CPF, Lumenitus. I had a similar problem with an L0DQ4. I ended up using a bit of white wood glue on the edges of the clip. The glue dried mostly clear and the clip hasn't slipped.

Thanks all for the welcome. I've actually been lurking here for some time. I think I have the addiction

Just giving something back to the community that has given much to me. I was just looking for a temporary solution to the loose clip, without making any permanent mods. This fit the bill. Besides, I bet everyone has at least one spare split ring laying about. Smaller rings might make a better fit, but I used what I had.

another method might be what I did. turned the clip over a flat region and bent the body tips a little

Cool. Too bad the clip that came with my LD01 cracked somehow (it wasn't very well made apparently). I wasn't really using it but I am thinking of how I could attach some kind of clip to it again...

I was trying to bend mine a little to make it stay on better and one side snapped off. going to request a replacement.

Clip quality must be suffering. The one that came with my L0DQ4 was rusted, but I like those River Rock clips better.
