Got an LE from the last batch about 4 weeks ago? a 3.1...way whiter than the very first issued...Anyway, it turns on and runs fine, but then if I turn it off then on again, it wont come on...SOMETIMES...any ideas? I love this baby and dont want to send it in unless I have to.

Yes, occasionally we still see a 'mystery' failure. I think it is a factor of the ground intergrity but honestly, I am not sure. Fortunately, it is fairly rare. Our fix right now is to simply replace the light.
Btw, Mike developed and implimented a new and improved crimp in the latest batch of LEs. Very nice and should increase ground intergrity.

FIXED IT BABY!!!I tightened/ loosened the head for 5 minutes, it squeeked like crazy. Then I wiped the interior threads and head threads with a dry cotton cloth until they sparkled. Then I lubed all the threads with my Rat Shack general purpose lube; then worked the head 100x, no failures. Then, cleaned it again, as above, relubed it and now it is soooo smooooth and there are no failures. It turns on/ off easy peasy. God, I love my LE... "hold me closer tiny torch light"

One of my LE's has that problem, but not often enough to send it back. I just moved it to the end of the line of my 3 & don't use it much. TX
