Leadlight laser diode voltage/ current ratings?

Just wondering what the voltage and current are just for the laser diode itself in the Leadlights?

The old ones could withstand 400mA+, the new ones it's 250 or 300.

I think they both run around 1.7-2.2V, but you don't want to regulate them by voltage.
