LED bulbs- heat problem

I don't know very well about the LED bulbs. Do the coverage glass of LEDs (as a bulb) prevent the bulbs from getting hot? Or is it about the fixture/luminaire ? I mean, can i use LED bulbs in any luminaire?

that's a good question.... the "fixed lighting" forum might be a better place to ask.

In general, though, the LED bulbs usually include some sort of heatsink, and that does require airflow to provide proper cooling. Any sort of enclosure will reduce the airflow, increase the LED temperature, and shorten the LED lifetime.
