Hi, I want to buy a eagletac D25C2.
There are two type of LED that could be chosen, XM-L2 & XP-G2.

XM-L2:
Wide spot, high limens but may be too hot to carry and burn in long time.

XP-G2:
Bright hot spot(but may be more balance than XM-L2?), more run time, less heat for carry and long time burning.

How's suggestion of you?
Thanks.

It's a hard choice.............probably need one of each. I have the Fenix PD32 UE (XM-L) and the PD32 (XP-G2) and I find that I use the XP-G2 more often. It use to be that I was always after the most efficient LED. That is take 2 LED's and put the same power (current) into them and which ever was the brightest would be classified as the most efficient. The XP-G2 and XM-L are pretty similar efficienty wise. It's just that the XM-L can be driven a lot harder.

Thus it boils down to whether you like the more floody beam of the XM-L or not.

By the way, don't worry about heat. Most likely you would not run the XM-L at full power for an extended length of time anyhow.

Unless you are doing close-up work, then go for the XP-G2. The XML emitters in a small host have very floody hot spots. The XP-G2 is the proper emitter for a small host. Of course, this is just MHO.........

As mentioned, really depends on your intended use.
I find these small diameter, shallow reflector lights don't have much throw anyway so I go for the brightest LED.
If I need throw, I go to a different light.

I find 90% of my required flashlight needs to be reasonably close distances so I like XMLs in small heads. Also, go for the neutral white tint.

Same here. A floodier light serves ME better 9/10 times. Inside looking at some drywall work I did in my home, I want to see a wide 6'x6' area, not a 11"-wide blinding hotspot. Looking in the yard to pick up dog poop, I want to see a nice wide section of grass, not a hotspot 1' wide causing me to sweep back and forth just to keep my shoes clean!
