led color choice

I'm about to purchase a Surefire A2 and was wondering what you all thought the best led color to get is?

What are you going to do with the light? Is it important that you keep your night vision? If it is I would go with a red led. If not, hey why not the common white led? Also consider that if you are going to be reading maps with a red led then all the red colors on the map will not show, and so on, and so on with the other colored leds. I don't remember where I read this, but a website had a pics of reading a map with various colors and having certain details not show up because of the particular led color that was being used. I hope this helps.
