Hi, could anyone suggest any led flash lights that are compact, bright, have good run time and quality, oh yeah and on a budget but if something nice is suggested that can change lol.:) It could do with having rechargeable batteries, Many thanks for any suggestions, Jim.
 
Well about £150 tops, it doesn't have to be the brightest light as its for working under bonnets of cars and under dashboards, but run time and rechargeable are top of the wish list.
 
There are loads. I'd suggest a torch made by HDS, they are excellent quality and very tough, they have several different UI's available aswell so you can choose whatever is best for you. They are compatable with rechargeable RCR123's.

The 4sevens quark 123 is good if you want something a bit cheaper.
 
I would move your request to the main Led section as this area is for the bottom dollar thingies.

There is a huge variety of lights available in your price range, so you will probably get better responses if you can give more specifics about intended use/s size, battery preferences, flood/throw, User interface, clicky/twisty etc.
 
Rechargeable AA or rechargeable lithium (RCR123A/16340, 14500, 18650)?

Even the most rugged torch can break if dropped the wrong way. Suggest getting 2 torches whose total cost is below £150. Maybe £100 tops so you have money to reclaim your torches from the taxman at customs.

Have a think as to how big or small you want your torch to be. JacobJones suggestions use 1*RCR123A and is quite small for holding for extended periods. Would a 4sevens Quark AA² 5.8 inches be more suitable than a quark 123 3.2 inches?
5.8 inches easier to hold, too long for pocket carry, toolbox carry.
3.2 inches just drop into pocket.
By the way the Quarks come in regular and tactical versions.

Hi!

A while back, I ordered the Quark AA2 XP-G R5 version. It has a perfect allround beam, and balanced output vs. runtime. I digg the moonlight mode of only 0.2 lumens. Perfect when reading at night. It runs on 2x AA batteries. They are very easy to get a hold on, no matter where you're at. I suggest you buy an intelligent NiMh charger and 4x Sanyo Eneloop hybrid batteries.

Grab an HDS 120 or any HDS light for that matter and let your search end. I have tried many lights over the past few months and landed on HDS as my favorite UI, beam, build quality, form factor, and size.
