Hi,
I've just received some LED's that I ordered, but there is nothing on them other than the name CREE, and on another one there is nothing written, are they always unmarked ?
Luckily I know the big unmarked one is a SSC P7, but as I say that's luck, so is it really a case of keeping them in a little box so I know what's what, why can't they be marked, would make life easier, or am I just a moaning old git!!
Thanks for any input, even to moaning old git.

That is usually all you will get from most places. Cree doesn't mark the Bins on the LEDs. If you are lucky, or get them from a good distributer, they will write the Bin on the bag, and you can use a sharpie and write it on the back of the board.

Yeah, I've always griped (to myself) about how cree doesn't put enough info on their LEDs. I'm sure they have the technology, but it really doesn't make any sense. usually the customers who care are the ones who buy in bulk and would end up with a reel of the same binned LEDs.

Sure would be nice, though, if bin code were etched on the SiC too (anybody else notice the + marking on it? laser!)

It's not just me then, thought I might have been unlucky and got some "unlabled", but it's the norm you say, at least that cleared that up for me.
Thanks for the input, most appreciated,
tabetha
