Started biking with some friends recently so, I decided to build a rear bike light.

My build consistent's of :

2 Red cree xpg

4 Rechargeable AA's

2 1.2 ohm 1/4 watt resistors

1 Hammond Metal Project box

2 Carclo Frosted Narrow lens

1 cheap Tail gate light from wal-mart

The leds are wired in parallel @ 2.3 vf and current is limited too 400ish ma's per led. The batteries are wired 2s2p giving me 2.8 volts and 4 amps. Total run time on paper should be about 5-6 hours. My light kicked the crap out of my cars rear light's so I am very pleased with the brightness . I haven't noticed any heat issues but then again I have not used it for more than 5 mins at a time. Should have used a slightly smaller project box but since I had this one laying around I didn't feel like buying a new one. Now I have to figure out how im going to mount this to the back of my bike. Anyone have any suggestions?
