I know some people replaced CCFL with LEDs as backlight of LCD. I am going to try it in my monitor, but I can not find a suitabls LED strip. I found a lot of companies from the internet who produce LED strips for lighting and the separating distance between two LEDs is half inch or more. This is too big for LCD backlight. Could anyone please let me know the LED strip manufacturers for LCD backlight purpose?
Thank you very much!

Most small (less than 20") LCDs are edge lit, and the original diffusor can probably handle the LED separation. 15" panels will probably require about 5-10W LED power, 20" about 10-20W led power.
If you want to experiment with direct backlight you will probably need a custom diffuser between the LEDs and the panel.
Most panels with direct backlight are thicker to allow for some distance between the lightsource and the panel, otherwise it would probably be difficult to maintain an even brightness.
