I wanted to see if anyone else has received an LED from LEDengin which had a dome that was this far off center. Would this be considered a defect? It's off by almost a millimeter.

It may get returned and I wasn't sure if the next one would be the same way.

Wow. That's pretty far off. I've purchased a number of different LEDs from them, including LZ-4 packaged LEDs like yours, as well as the LZ-C type emitters, but none of them have ever looked like that. The soldering job looks far too sloppy for them also. Where did you purchase it from?

Thanks, I had hoped this wasn't typical for them. It's the first LED I've purchased from this manufacturer.

I got it from Mouser. They have something like 80 in stock and my concern is that maybe LEDengin had a batch of LED's that made it out the door with off center domes.

The soldering is a bit ugly. When viewed from the side, it looks like the bottom of the LED is raised up off of the star. It's unlike any other star mounted LED I've received before.
