LF2XT aging gracefully?

How many people have the great LiteFlux LF2XT and find that it is still their favorite, or high on their list of favorites?

Is it possible that the LF2XT was the greatest home run ever hit?

Yes, I think so.

Packed with tons of useful functions, small, neutral tint, nice design, momentary on, gorgeous beam, auto turn-off, it's like having an ultra-portable HDS. It's by far my favorite AAA light. Even if I'm poor these days, I can't sell it, I know I would regret it.

It's still my favorite, and I use it every day!

Well, it's hard (if not impossible to say) what might be the greatest home run hit ever, but what makes the LF2XT stand out, unlike almost all the other amazing lights, is that there was/is no similar light with a comparable feature set and UI.

I have two of them and won't part with either one. I have one of them on me at all times. Even if I'm carrying something bigger. (which I usually am.) There is no equal, or anything that even comes close in my mind. Darn shame they aren't available anymore.

I have 3 of the little beasts. I've retired them to a safe place without batteries because I'm afraid I'll lose one. One has trits. I now carry a Preon 2, a Thrunite Ti, and once in awhile a cheap Chinese copy. Once in awhile I open the drawer and say hello to my little friends. I never understood why they were discontinued.

It will go down in the history books as the best AAA ever in my opinion. Sold mine recently but my 3 LF3XT's are keeping me from missing it! I like the bigger form myself.

same here. i would have bought more (and so would all of us, i assume) if i would have known they'd be discontinued. my Steve Ku Ti (run #2) has been my absolute favorite light since i bought it. a side note: i just saw a couple of Steve's 2XTi's sell on the MP for nearly $800! it's part of my EDC. sometimes i worry that i'll lose it, but i love having it with me.

and Steve modified a LF3XT to neutral for me that i use on my mountain bike with a neutral Quark 123 tac.

the user interface on these liteflux' is light years ahead of its time.

I was blessed enough to get one when the supply was drying up. Other lights have come and gone in my collection, and the LF2XT has remained my favorite throughout. It is amazing that such a great light had such a short life. It is just so odd, or ironic, that it isn't produced anymore. There are just so many great things about it...

I think for a lot of people the light was too complex and not bright enough. I disagree. Maybe Mr. Liteflux will see this thread and have a change of heart.

Nothing has come along any better in a couple years. That says it all these days, with tech advances coming daily. I purchased one of the R2 "Special Editions" as I prefer it to the natural tints. Mine has worked flawlessly since day one. It's been so good that I've kind of stopped closely following the advances in flashlight technology. Just been watching closely enough to know that I still have the ultimate AAA light.

I think the MBI "Torpedo" may appeal to some - the UI is looking very interesting indeed (and no unintended switching on, either). On the LF2XT you had a choice between low battery protection OR auto switch-off, you couldn't have both.

After reading all the reviews and buzz, i picked up a used one on the second hand market for nearly $200 and it is worth every penny. There's nothing else like it, not even close. Solid, integrated pocket clip (why has no other manufacturer figured out how to do this?), and a very cool programmable ui. And offered in neutral tints of course!

Given its extreme popularity and demand on the secondhand market, it is shocking that Liteflux never made more of them. What a missed opportunity.
