I have tried to restrict my lights to Nimh and 123 primaries but find that I now have two lights that call for Li-ion rachargables and I can't seem to figure out which Li-ions fit the lights. Hope someone can shed some light on the issue.

Light #1 - Ranier/CPF special that came with a blue battery marked "Li-ion 3.6V 750 mah. The positive button has four slices around the edge. The negative end is concave rather than flat and says Li-ion. It slips perfectly into the tube without slop. Can you tell weather this battery is protected or unprotected from my description? It came with a charger... Model PH-123A-A and says it is suitable for RCR123A Li-ion. This is a beautiful light with a great beam and I would like to become comfortable with the necessary battery.

Light #2 - Horus FD-1.3 Titanium. The Horus website says 3.6/3.7 V. Li-ion. The battery that came in the Ranier light is 3.6 V. but does not quite fit in the Horus tube. I can push it in with a little force but would never get it out. I have not run this light yet as it did not come with a battery and I am not sure what to purchase for it.

 What is the proper/best battery choice for these lights?

 Can I run the same Protected Li-ion battery in both of these lights?

I'm assuming that both of these lights take 3.7V RCR123 size cells. (does a CR123 fit in there?)...

If so... just get some AW brand protected RCR123s, they are about the closest to proper CR123 dimensions you are going to find :)

Eric - Both lights accept a CR123 Primary. The Rainier/CPF lights up but only with a dim beam. The Horus does not light up at all.

Yea, get some AW protected 3.7V for those, you can find em in his sales thread in the dealers corner of the marketplace, or on lighthound.com...

mdocod - Thanks for the input. Placed an order for some AW protected R123A's along with a pair of spacers so they will fit in my charger. I think that should do the trick.
