Li-Ion vs Li primary - lumen output

I have a Quark X 1232 ​and was wondering what the diffrence between li-ion and lithium primary cells have on OTF lumens. I am currently running a single AW 17670 cell in my quark mainly because this is used in a headband most of the time so safety is a big consideration. (did not want a multi-cell lithium next to my head :eek:) Would the lumens be more with the Li-ion or less? Also how does the runtime compare? Thanks!
 
Since the Quark uses regulated circuitry, there should be no noticeable difference in OTF lumens between the Li-ion and Lithium primary cells.

You will probably notice a difference between that single cell and the two stacked cells only in turbo mode.

Can't say for sure, but I think you will get more run time with the primaries. But then there is the trade off. Rechargeability or safety.

I'd just like to point out that the primary 123 batteries contain metallic Lithium and there have been many accounts of explosions - care is needed.
I am not convinced that there is any less safety when using rechargeable Li-ion cells. With care either should be no problem.
 
I have to go along with Mark, on this one. I feel much safer running Li-Ion cells in series, than lithium primary cells. Most "incidents" that occur while a light is in use, occur when mismatched lithium primary cells are used. Accidents involving the use of Li-Ion cells when the light is in use, are very rare.

It is when Li-Ion cells have been abused and one attempts to charge them, that most incidents with Li-Ion chemistry occur. This can be avoided entirely, if one understands and impliments proper care and handling of Li-Ion cells.

I have also heard that the heat of the led can sometimes drain the first cell at a quicker rate than the second cell which is further away from the heat source then the primary battery will be charged by the second cell causing an undesirable event.
