Does anybody know what kind of lifespan a decent charger (Maha MH-C808M) and betteries (Accupower Evolution) might have? I plan on switching over all, but my plastic drawer lights to D cell NiMH's. The way I figure it, it's going to be around $100 for the batteries and another $100 for the charger. It's not much in the grand scheme of things, but I'm looking at this as an investment. Accupower says you can recharge them 1000 times. I don't use my lights much, but using simple devision; if I charge them at the end of every month they should give me 83 years of service (I don't know if that time frame can get any rougher). Now, I can't say if I'll still be kickin in 2091 (I'd be 107), but I have no doubt that by that time something new and better will have come along. Until then, what kind of lifespan do you think modern chargers and NiMH batteries have? As much as I use my lights, I'm hoping to get around 10 years of use out of them.
