So hear goes just hang on and take the ride with me here. A cold one, cup of coffee or what ever may be a worthwhile suggestion as I think this may be one of my lengthier posts.
Working with my patent and its basic utilitarian function I have conceived of a few uses that have been in the back of my mind. I have found some interesting uses for the utilitarian function of the laser fishing rods and this is the run down on just one of them that I may want to venture.
Conception of the over all function of illumination would most likely be the best groundbreaker to start with here. A laser beam sent through a cylindrical opaque walled tube will illuminate the tube at the point where the laser light contacts. If the inner wall of this tube has a very smooth surface the light from the laser will be reflected and can be reflected many times over a great distance. This allows for the illumination to be seen through the outer walls of the tube at each point the light from the laser contacts the inner wall of the opaque tube. When an arc is made with this tube and both one end of the tube and the laser are held stationary inside the tube the light will reflect on another area and the reflection of that light will change the angle of reflective points along the length of the cylinder. This creates an outward appearance of the tube that looks as thought the light is moving inside the tube and indicates any angular change of this tube.
Are you with me here? If so you now understand the basic utilitarian function of the laser fishing rods and are on the way to delving into the concept I have had that just seems to make plain common sense to me.
The benefits from the utilitarian function of my patent could run two fold if not more with the application I have found for it.
Aligning opaque tubes along the corners of skyscrapers with lasers in the base of these tubes will one allow a natural movement of the buildings to move the light along the length of the tubes. This will allow for the dynamic forces of wind and geological movement to be visualized for all to see. Not to mention this should look really cool! If photoelectric light sensing cells where set at regular intervals along the length of this illuminated tube these forces from the wind and geological movements could be measured and measured very accurately I would imagine.
The power used to run this rig could be generated from photovoltaic cells as the lasers demands can be very low and produce a very surprising amount of useable light.
Playing around with this concept has brought me into many different applications that have really surprised me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

So what do you think? Is it worth a run at a Luxor look on our skyscrapers corners with the benefits that are possible?
