I'm being asked to recommend a simple, two-mode LED flashlight, with a $25 budget.

it should be light enough and large enough for arthritic hands, though there's actually no arthritis. I'm thinking C or D size cells. The specification I was given is two modes, bright and dim.

I think my best choice is going with the two-AA Inova X2, and forget the size part. In a perfect world, I'd get a Fivemega 2C host and a Malkoff M31, but that blows the budget by an order of magnitude.

check rayovac indestructible there are three models that fit your criteria 3aaa, 2aa and the 3c they are all under $25.00 and can take a beating check h.depot or another big store
