Inspired by the test gear before it tests you thread, I thought id buy a light and see how tough it is. Nothing too crazy expensive but a surefire wouldnt be out of the question - recommend away and the most popular choice will be tested. If you have tests youd like to see done please share those too.

I was gonna just say Elzetta M60 then I started laughing, it's used to drive nails like a hammer...Gee i'm pretty sure I already have my answer about it's durability. Maybe u can take one to a batting cage and see how it holds up there

Yes 1313 !
Tests should start out to simulate real world abuse. Multiple drops on to tar and concrete from waist and head height, exposure to common automotive and farm chemicals, heat and cold, things that would normally happen. Shooting the light and running it over with a huge loader is funny but less likely to happen in normal use. Maybe a manufacturer will put there flashlight where their mouth is and donate a light for you to abuse. Manufacturers frequently donate lights to reviewers so they can shine them at walls and take pictures of them. Show us how tough these lights are.

I really like the malkoff md2 idea. Lou has similar ideas that I do, do more realistic tests such as dropping and what not verses just ridiculous ones. Maybe malkoff md2 with m61 and low/high ring?

How about including some of those cheap flashlights that are awash on ebay for less than a pound? It could be fun to see a early failure (we might even be surprised... )
