It's cool. I figured there were supposed to be pics there.

The Internet: Making people look silly since Al Gore invented it. :)

And yes, the whole clone-of-a-clone-of-a-clone thing gets pretty crazy sometimes.

Re: You be the Judge

why such a seperation in price though $40.00 dif. thats twice as much for the quark.

Re: You be the Judge

Usually if you have both the clone and the genuine article in your hands at the same time, you can see and feel where the price difference went.

Re: You be the Judge

I don't understand this thread

Sorry kind of vague.Arent they the same light?
The shiningbeam Left and the Quark Right whats the differance?
other than the shiningbeam costs $40.00 less.

Re: You be the Judge

Oh... ok
They do look similar, but I am sure there are differences and without taking the time to look both of them up FourSevens puts a lot of quality behind their product. Square threads, perfectly centered LEDs, accurate output advertisements etc. I am sure you would notice differences if you looked at the specs or had them in your hands.

Comparing lights solely on looks isn't going to help you determine which is the better flashlight.

agreed its just they look exactly the same.
Like a Chevrolet 1500 and a GMC 1500
It makes me wonder if either company actually designs there own lights or if they purchase stock materials
from a vendor and have there name stamped on it.
It makes me wonder if i could find the vendors and purchase direct. There are many companies who start that way.
Ever heard of black box. They would have there companies name put on a router, next thing you know there installing there
own equipment in TRs.

I've got a JetBeam BA-20 and a Klarus P2A, both 2xAA lights and you'd have a hard time telling them apart if the names were removed. Slight differences in the milling cuts on the tubes, but right down to the silver springs and modes, I'd swear that Chang made them both on the same assembly line in China.

What product is the clone? mabey they are made by a seperate entity alltogether and stamped with whatever name the dealer who is ordering them wants on them.
I dont know that either company actually manufactures a flashlight.
They might i just dont know.
If 1 company does actually makethis light they would have a patent.I
f they dont make the light and just put there name on it than so be it.I dont care.
Ive read reviews on both and both come with very high praise on build quality.

Dont assume 1 light is superior and i wont assume 1 isnt.Thats fair and balanced.

The difference between $47 and $77 is $30, not $40. Just an FYI.

I've got a no-frills SB I-mini value edition and it's a neat little variable light that's pretty bright with a 16340 installed.
