So I have to say there is some cool stuff on this site, and thank you for starting something like this. I am a flashlight noob and would like to tap into the community's expertise. I am a flight medic who does SAR type missions in the backcountry and was trying to find a good light to put in my flight vest. I was looking for nothing too cumbersome, light, easy to handle when gloved hands are wet, dependable, and durable. I was looking at Niteforce SRT5, because of the red and blue options with the light. Never really tried to look for blood on my pt's with a blue light before but could be interesting. Anyhow thanks to all that reply, and thanks again for having me here.

I am a newbie too, but I think FandyFire ROOK is OK, it is the similar with Skyray King, but smaller, you can put it in your flight vest easily

If you can give an idea of how much you want to spend, battery type, typical usage (duration, distance etc) you'll get some (good?!) recommendations rather than guesses.

There's a 'recommend me a light' questionnaire HERE to get you started on what you want/need (Not always the same thing!)

I've not owned one, but how about something like a Malkoff Devices MD2 with high/low switch? - Reliable, simple to use, no-nonsense flashlight.
