Looking for a head for a black Surefire G2.

Plastic hex head, or the older / original 'nubbed' version ? The hex head version seems to be the less common of the two.
There was also the matte-finish Z44-type bk-anodized aluminum head that only went on the last of the G2L's, before SF transitioned away from the P60 system. I've always wondered if they created that variation after they had to start replacing burned-out P60LED dropins ...

I've prefer the hex because of the pyrex window instead of nubby with the lexan, but either will do. I don't run P61's too often. I'm pretty sure that's the reasoning behind why they created the G2L's later on with the aluminum heads.

Many years ago I sourced one of those black matte Z44 hex heads. I legoed a Solarforce 18350 body, matte blk Z44 AL head and G2 ribbed tailcap to house a Malkoff M61WL. Nice little set up. Surefire 3P are basically impossible to get (super $$) and the SF 18mm body lets me run 18350s.

It was my understanding that those black matte Z44 hex heads came on the first gen Fires Rescue lights, which were fluorescent yellow G2/G3s. Never did score either that style G2/G3. Interestingly, that metal hex head had a lexan window which I swapped out to an AR lens.
