I have a really nice SF C2 that has a Mc-clicky in it with a AW17670 and only a 3.7V 100 lumen incan drop in.

want to make this light into my show piece. I want over 1K lumens with a triple neutral white XPG or even something insane like a triple XM-L is anyone even does that yet.

What are my options? I have looked in the custom BST forums a bit but its such a confused mess in there I get lost.

What would you all recommend? I know it will get hot, I may put a cryo head on it but it won't be for constant use.

Thanks!

FYI I would like to keep it around 100. less is possible. :ohgeez:

You will struggle to get 1000+ lumen with 17670 cells - they just cant handle the requires current draw. Go for a lower power triple or for the budget option a single XML drop in at 3A max from Vinh or Nailbender :)

2xIMR16340 (or 2xIMR18350 preferably i.e. a bored host) is best for the TorchLab XP-G triples.
1x 18650 (LiCo not IMR) for the DD 1xXML's from Vinh or Nailbender.

what if I use my 9P with two 17500's? I actually have two AW17500's or would boring it out to take two IMR 18500's be a better option? I am aware of the overready/torchlab triples, does anyone else make them that might have something in stock? Thanks for the info guys.

2x17500 works well with the OR/TL Triples. Other than that, Vinh and Nailbender offer a high-voltage driver option (3-18V IIRC) that seems to work well with their XM-L dropins.

Other than those two options, there really isn't much out there that is relatively high voltage and high output.

I have both of these high-voltage setups (i.e. the OR/TL Triple and a 3-18v Vinh XM-L) and they are both good values IMO, albeit a bit far apart in the cost spectrum.

I do prefer configurations like these because they can handle multiple LiIons (as well as 1xLiIon) which provide extended runtimes and compatibility with pretty nearly any host, anything from 1xIMR16340 to 2x18650.
