I'm trying to decide if I want to get a 9P + A19 from the Custom BST section for a poor mans M4 but I would like to see if it would seem too "unwieldy" and if I should just stick to a 9P instead. I'm searching as we speak but I was wondering if anyone had some really good pics available. Thanks....

You'll also need some sort of turbohead if you want to replicate the M4. It's about 2.5" in dia.

I'm not happy with the photo, but it looks something like this:

Any 4-Cell SF will appear un-weildy, but the MN60 puts out the best incan beam of any hand held SF. I can see further with it than I can with my M6 as the beam is more laser beam like on the MN60 than the MN20. To offset the "unwieldiness" of it, I use the finger loop combat ring. Hope this was able to help you decide.

I ran a defacto "12P" (9P + A19) back when Digilight was around. The lamp is now in a Leef 2x18650 body running on 4 primary cells. It's a sock drawer light so the length is not an issue.

Using the head from a SF M2 results in much better balance than when a Turbo head is used.

I have been wondering the same thing.

I wonder if the 'combat ring' of a SF C3 would reduce the 'unwieldiness' of a C3 + A19 combo. When I get my C3 bored for 18mm's, I like the idea of being able to run 2x 18650's if necessary - a capacity gain of ~75% over 2x 18500 (2600 mAh vs 1500 mAh) for only ~35mm extra length.

Yo KDOG3,

I use a poorman's M4 every once in a while. The measured length of that setup is roughly equivilent to the M4's. The big difference is no cooling fins and the 9P battery tube is much thicker. It is a well proportioned light IMHO. Plus you can scale it down to a poorman's M3 sans combat rings.

My PMM4 cost me $200 to build and that includes a SF diffuser and a extra MN15 LA. I love the Marketplace.

Using the C3 body with the A19 is ugly. I have tried it too.

If the price is right get it and don't regret it!

I'm still debating on which setup to go with. Its such a hard decision. Decisions, decisions...

One one hand I want a 4 cell ( 2x18650, 4x123s' ) for ultimate power and flexibilty. I could use the 2x18650s until I needed to fall back on primaries. I carry one of those 4 CR123a spares' carriers - 1 spare for my Ra clicky and the other 3 spares for the 9P when I take off the A19. However thats' my issue - should I bother with the trouble with removing the A19 everytime I want to use my 3 primary back ups. So I'm kinda thinking of just getting the 9P by itself, 2x18500s' and the 3 back-up primaries when I need them.

I'm probably over-thinking this by a truckload.....

how about 2x17500 or 18500? (the column is as long a 3 CR123s) VERY convenient and versatile setup in both LED AND high power incandescent!

Get a SC2, then you will have a spare MN60 with a reload and 2 reloads for your single celled light.
