Looking for a small AA EDC light

New to CPF and I have been looking at a new EDC small AA light. Think I have it narrowed down to either 4sevens mini ma or d25a mini. Want something very small. Not needing huge output but something with decent run times. And not overly pricey, would like to be under $50. A pocket clip would be nice but not overly important. Olight i2 and itp a2 might be options also. If there is something I should look at please let me know. I have a AAA microstream now so want an AA light.
 
Good lights, I'd also put the Thrunite T10 on your list if you like long runtime low lows.
 
There's also the L2 illuminations L10. Fenix also has the LD15 that could work too.

Personally, I like AAA lights on the keychain, and a clickie AA or CR123 clipped to one of my pockets.

i looked at the T10. Only thing I was not excited about with it was the gap between high and medium. 115 on high but all the way down to 9 on medium. I would like something in the 20-30 range on medium. I did like the low at about 1. Ideally I would pick something that was 100,30,1 output levels.
 
Then consider the D25A clicky... it is a bit longer than the twisty, but its got moonlight and you can program 0.5/8/75 or 2.5/20/75 in loose bezel, tight bezel stays 122 and strobe. ETs lumen numbers are solid. Another favorite of mine ~ $50.

BTW, I measured the T10 medium to be 13 lms, while the others are as stated.
 
Yes, the d25a clicky is another light I have been looking at. I kinda like the tail switch.

I read a review on the 47's mini aa that was a couple years old that said the threads had a little slop in them and could jump levels. Is the mini ma (I think this is the current updated model) better with the threads? Is the titanium version better? Smoother? Wear better? I found a decent deal on the titanium version but over what I want to spend and wondering if the extra $$ is worth it.

Also, I am not very knowledgable on the different battery types. I have several energizer rechargable AA 1.2v NiMh batteries. Are these compatable with all lights? Is the output and runtimes similar on these to straight alcaline batteries? I think if I understand what I have been reading the output is similar but runtime is longer due to less internal resistance on the rechargeables.

In December 2009 I pre-ordered the first Quark MiNi AA Neutral-white Q35A3. Use it everyday @ work and its been great.
 
Does anyone with the 47's mini ma in titanium have any feedback as far as how the twist operates? Is it pretty smooth out of the box and after continued use? I am leaning toward getting the titanium version and would like some opinions before I pull the trigger. I would think all titanium a would have similar characteristics. So any ti owners please let me know. If I am totally wrong about my thoughts let me know that too. Thanks much
 
I purchased the TI Mini AA over a yea ago and its still my favourite AA light. I usually run eneloops but lately have been throwing in an 14500 for fun.

Threads are smooth?

Has anyone found a pocket clip that works on the 47 mini? I would like the option to put a rear clip on it so I could clip it to my hat for hands free if I need to. That is why I keep looking at the itp A2... Looks like their pocket clip is reversible
 
Just ordered the foursevens mini MA. Went with standard black aluminum. Now I just need to find a pocket clip that will work with it. Anyone know of something that will work?
 
Just got my foursevens mini MA delivered. First impression is this is a very nice light. Not much bigger than my AAA light. Excellent fit and finish. Now, all I gotta figure out is a pocket clip or some way to clip it to my hat if I want hand free.
 
IIRC the original Maratac AA (Rev 1) is the shortest 1xAA light made. L/M/H twisty UI with a build quality far above it's $24.95 price at End Times Report. I've been EDCing one for a couple years and love it.

I truly loved mine until I recently lost it ,I hope it is OK without me?
I just ordered 2 from EOT,much better or more useful to me than the new version too.

Mine arrived Yesterday and they are pretty nice for the price.
I think between this and the Maratac AA, I like the Maratac better?
Better build,Smaller(if I remember correctly) but no firefly mode.
Either are a good choice but not in the same league as a ZL SC52 or SC80 or a D25A from my experience.

I think you probably get what you pay for but the Maratac seemed to play better than its price would suggest.
 
Have a look at the Thrunite TI & T10, allot of power for such small amount of money, much more impressed with their light quality (Good throw and flood for the size) over my D25A Clicky.

I have the new D25 Clicky in Limited Edition Titanium and love it! Great light, uses 3.7 volt batteries and you get all the same features with these batteries as you do Eneloops and it likes Eneloops so that is a plus also. Seriously if a single AA is your choice you'll love this light. I'm buying a second one.
