I want like a small 2-cell AA flashlight (or smaller), with a lot of candle power, and something you can pinpoint or make a big beam out of, but it has to be small. If I can fit it in my pocket that's perfect, and if it doesn't weigh a lot, that's great too, especially if I end up holding it in my mouth or something. A wrist strap would be preferred. Any ideas?

Unless you are going to mod the light, I'm not sure if existing 2AA lights will fit your requirements. If you can afford a true flashaholic grade light look into an Arc LSH, Streamlight TL-2, Scoprion, Surefire E2 or G2, Pelican P6, etc. Others will have recommendations for lamp replacements to get more light from that size light. I suppose a 4AA would be too big.

If it's small and must be focusable, you are highly restricted. This basically limits you to Minimag-type lightbulbs. If you drop the requirement for focusability, then you can step to a Lambda Illuminator (don't know if he is still making these but my LI was a great EDC for a long time for me) or the ARC LS + 2AA tailpack (without a doubt the most well made light in this class). Beyond that, you're into limited distribution, one-offs and contract mods (read: expensive). You'll have to decide just how much trouble/effort you're willing to go through.

Perhaps if you told us a little about your application. Is it just for general EDC? If this is the case, I'd just bite the bullet and buy a Surefire L4. This light is the all time finest EDC light. Small, bright, rugged and using Pila lithium ion batteries, very economical and ecologically friendly to operate.

Oh geez, I completely forgot about the Underwater Kinetics and Pelican lines. The Pel MityLite Plus 2AA is a nice light but not focusable. It also comes in a LED model. The UK 2AA Worklight is another nice NF light with decent carry flexibility.

I'm originally looking for a flashlight for a relative of mine. I don't want something that is going to weigh a lot is my biggest concern really. This is intended as an EDC. I was originally thinking of something like the Brinkman Legend LX. Yet I'd also like it to have a lanyard. Is this possible, or is there too much requirements so far?

well you could get a luxeon drop-in module from the Sandwich Shoppe for a Minimag and buy a lanyard seperate..

i'm trying to think of Lithium lights that come with lanyards..
i'm pretty sure the Streamlight TL2 xenon and also the Streamlight Nightfighter come with lanyards..

i think most Surefires have matching lanyards that can be purchased seperately, but i dunno the spending limit..

maybe an Underwater Kinetics 2L would work?

you outta give up on finding something focusable, 'cause they're slim pickins.
