Looking for SST-90 WN-F3 ...

no ... they are not willing to tell me the exact bin. They only say that they sell e.g. SST-90-W57S-F11-GN200 ...

That's probably because they can't get specific bins from the manufacturer. I haven't dealt with Luminous directly, but both Philips/Lumileds and Cree lump several bins together into an 'order code'.

This is due (I think) to evolution in the manufacturing process. As they constantly modify their manufacturing to try to get the highest reliability and efficiency, that causes the color characteristics to change as well. At some point in the past they created the bins, and now the manufacturing processes cause the actual parts to wander around across the bin boundaries. While they can test the parts and sort them into bins, they can't (or won't) intentionally manufacture a specific bin.

I work for a company that buys LEDs by the reel from both Philips/Lumileds and Cree, through distributors like Avnet. Each reel that we buy contains parts from a single bin. However, as a medium volume buyer (less than a million parts per year) we have limited success trying to buy reels of a specific bin. I think this is because at any moment, the manufacturing process may or may not be creating parts that test into that bin.

Also, you may be interested to know that just because a bin is identified, and a part number assigned, doesn't mean that that part has ever been made. We have been trying for a while to get LEDs with a specific wavelength output, and despite the fact that the bins and part numbers exist, we cannot find anyone who can make them, even when we offer to buy a million parts.

Don't stop trying to find the parts you want, but please realize that whether or not you find them may depend more on luck than skill.

Yea I know ... You are not able to order the exact bin but they are told which bin they get. looks like this http://i31.tinypic.com/jj1jqa.jpg

they are not willing to tell us the last line because they are lazy/sluggish. If they are not able to order the exact bin, the bin will vary with time ... So the only thing I would have to do would be to wait (only works if the communicate the bin)

I know ... look at the picture above. The Bin I'm looking for exists ... It was sold several month ago here in Germany.

Yup :mecry:

Difference WL/Wm -> Flux Bin. WM is better than WL but worse than WN

DF/DE/F3 -> Color bin. DE is better than DF because is on the BB-Locus line ...

WM-DE or WM-F3 would have been the best choice @47 but they are out of stock and won't come back soon. So WM-DF is the best choice if you want to buy the emitter @47.
