Hi and thank you for help in advance.
I am looking for US made LED light for general use around the house. I already own SF 6PL and Novatac EDC 120T. Something like SF6PL will satisfy my needs, but would love the light to be US made, preferably under $150, if possible. I already checked ElZetta, but prefer a little better runtime and to crazy about shape. I do not need a weapon grade light, just a good US made LED light.
Thank you in advance

There are other really nice lights that are "made in the USA", but some of the components are from other countries. You'll have to decide if that's acceptable to you. Check out HDS systems, and PEAK lights.

Check out Malkoff Devices, in particular the MD2 with Hi/Lo ring combo; it's within your budget and has everything you need except the batteries.

One more vote for the MD2 w/Hi/Lo ring. This is an incredible value (IMHO). With an 18650 the low is a very usable ~20 lumens and with two CR123 primaries it is around 40 lumens. The high in both cases is exactly as Gene specifies for the M61 drop in. It's well regulated and with an 18650 it will begin to dim on high well before you have run the risk of over discharging the battery (or tripping the protection circuit). The light is rock solid and has the best designed reflector for a CREE XP-G emitter I have ever seen. On the low setting a 2600 mAH 18650 runs (seemingly) forever. You can get this light with a wonderfully designed tailcap shroud that allows it to tailstand. Also the dimensions are such that most holsters designed for Surefire 2 cell lights will work with this light.

Take a good long look at Peaks offerings. Don't go to their website, it hasn't been updated. Try RMSK.

Thank you very much. So far I like both ideas. I never knew that Malkoff started to make lights. Thanks again. Now I need to choose.

I gotta ad a vote for the Peak lights. I have Surefire and HDS, but Peak lights are of great quality, and in the right configuration will please you.

:) Hello,

I own Pelican, Surefire, UK lights. Surefire lights are made hear in California. Some of the Pelican products are made/assembled in California. UK lights are made/assembled California. They are high quality and never had any problems with them. Look at their websites.

I just learned about this company yesterday from another thread: LensLight - ClickHere
I don't know much about them, but do know that they are US made. These lights are focusable, but that's the extent of my knowledge.

If you are getting the Malkoff, you might want to buy the turn-key version with everything installed? It comes with the MD2 flashlight, hi/lo ring, glass lens and M61 drop-in and it costs slightly lesser than when you were to buy these parts separately.

I vote for HDS lights also. Although not entirely made in the USA, they are however designed and assembled in the US. The different parts come from around the world. And the designer Henry Schneiker is a real stand-up guy. Would never go wrong with his products.

Looks good but I am not sure. Like you, this is the first time I have read about LensLight. I kind of like the look of the Mini Ti but paying $325 for a light I know nothing about is a little too rich for my blood. With better info and review I might consider a purchase.

Hi bh49,

There just so happens to be pre-owned, but mint condition Malkoff MD2 head on an MD3 body w/ the Hi-Lo ring for $85 at the CPFMP right now. Here's the thread: http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/sh...koff-Lights.-New-or-Like-New!-*MD3-Wildcat-V2!!*

If you decide on that and want a Malkoff M61 or M61W drop-in for the MD2 head, I can get you one for $65 or $150 total with the host listed above. Just let me know, but soon.

Also if a mint condition Malkoff MD2 head/body w/ Hi-Lo Ring, Delrin tailcap shroud/pocket clip combo (slight scraches on the Delrin) and an M61 drop-in is more appealing, I can get that for you at $130. Just let me know as soon as possible. These items will be going up for sale on the Marketplace soon.

All the best,
John
