Lost and Found

I lost a prized Peak LED flashlight about 5 years ago. I looked for it everywhere and finally just gave up. Amazingly, I found it tonight in a most unexpected place. I'm still trying to figure out how it got there.

I purchased a new shotgun for home defense (Benelli Nova Tactical). So I got into the trunk of my patrol car and got my small ammo can of shotgun shells out. I rumaged through it for a few minutes picking out the Hornady Tactical 00 Buck and after pulling out a handfull of shells, I looked down and saw my light grasped in my hand with two other shells.

I'm stoked. And confused as to how it ever got in there. Just had to share.

It must have been hard not knowing where it was and turning everything up only to not find it. Glad to hear you finally came upon it! :)

This light is soooooo dim. It's funny. Even with an IMR 16340 jumped to the head it's dimmer than my Eiger on a AAA Nimh. Somehow I remember it being brighter than this. :D I wish I could remember what kind of led is in there.

Its prolly a old 5mm Nichia, or three of em bunched together. Can we get a business end shot?

It's not a 5mm. It's a power led of some sort. Tiny little thing with a slightly greenish tint. I doubt my phone camera could get it. I'd guess that it's a Lux I.

Hmm, interesting. Peaks have a way of disappearing. I have Peak Eiger Ultra X go missing a few months ago and I just looked everywhere for it. Looks like I have to wait another 4+ months before it miraculously turns up.

Very good it's run off lithiums... If it were an alkaline, imagine the highs and then the lows you'd get when you see it's insides busted with battery gunk!

... IIRC, over the evolution of the Pacific, Peak have used Lux-I / Lux-III / SSC-P4 emitters :thinking:
